Oakville, ON: Polar Performance Materials is pleased to announce its first shipment of high purity alumina (HPA) products from its state-of-the-art production facility in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. Polar utilizes proprietary technology and the latest in advanced production equipment to produce high-purity alumina powder, beads, and pucks which are shipped to customers worldwide.

Polar’s new facility produces customizable HPA powder, beads, and pucks. These products are used in high-performance applications, including semiconductor equipment components, sapphire crystal growth for LEDs and optical components, aerospace composites, thermal interface materials, lithium-ion batteries, and other industrial applications.
High-quality HPA products are a key enabler of low-carbon technologies including LEDs, electric vehicles, and energy storage. Polar’s patented process has been utilized to produce HPA since 2018. This proprietary process is readily scalable at ultra-high purity, allowing Polar to adjust production volumes based on individual client’s needs. New production capabilities will allow Polar to expand into new high-performance applications and markets in the coming years.
